21 July 2012

Last week, the 6th to the 11th of July, I had a friend from the UK come to stay and we did a little sightseeing and a lot of shopping. :) I bought a hat.
So just a quick post as the pics are starting to pile up and I will get on to what I saw today in the next one.

Peepshow in the Baixa area of Lisbon.

We found a little restaurant just down from the previous picture and had the most wonderful lunch. Crab, prawns, langoustine and mussels cooked with rice and served in the pot it was cooked in at your table. Messy to eat, but absolutely delicious.
The following are views of the city from the first platform of the Santa Justa Elevator.

These are the stairs to the top of the elevator. I still have not been up there yet, but I will get there!

This is looking down in to the Baixa area of the city.

Restaurants are everywhere, even on the steepest streets and they all had blankets hanging over the backs of the chairs to wrap yourself in as the cool of the evening set in. It's such a good idea because it is SO hot through the day but can cool very rapidly at night.

More soon....
